Masquerade I. “Flight” represents one's ability to leave when one must. The ability to have the wings to set yourself free. She is spirit released.

"Flight" represented my plight! It was showing me my inner world that I was trapped and needing to move from a very limited space to a more open one. This phenomenon was unknown to me at the time and only until recently I recognized what was going on.

Masquerade II. “Out of Darkness” represents the masculine vehicle of power, strength, and muscle merging into a new stage in life. In him, we see a glimpse of reality, fear, and light at once.

I painted "Out of Darkness" which I now realize was my inner masculine side, something I believe all females have. This was the vehicle facilitating the move from fear to action.

Masquerade III. “Innocence” is stepping into a brand-new world after living in a very sheltered and safe place. It is waking up and seeing everything with fresh new eyes and a vulnerable heart.

With “Innocence” I began to understand and became conscious of the symbolism going on between reality and my paintings, it was uncanny. I could paint a painting and understand what I needed and where I was headed.

Masquerade IV. “Seduction” represents a reawakening of the power of love and passion. It is the door opening again to the surprising joys of sensuality.

“Seduction” represented the newer me, a bit of the dark side I was allowing to emerge. A side I used to be afraid of, but now seemed exciting, fresh, and new. I charged in! I began living and accepting my new self.

Masquerade V. “The Queen of Hearts” is all about self-empowerment. The right to claim yourself. When you no longer care what others think about you and your choices. You take care of yourself, your responsibilities and those you love. You are in comfort and without restraint. Being a Queen is being Free.

With this piece, I was my own person, telling the story as it unfolded. It’s about feeling empowered, and I can only say that each and every female would be missing out to not discover you’re your true adult self. To fully engage in a life where you are face to face with you. The Queen of Hearts is fully in charge and can take care of her surrounds. She is a treasure and she treasures all she has in her life.

Masquerade VI. “Lucifer” is about being careful what we wish for. He is a rock star, he is irresistible; but he is also dark and narcissistic. He embodies the ego run amok.
